A Woodstock teen says she was attacked at school on national anti-bullying day — while students wearing pink shirts in support of the cause pulled out their phones to record the incident instead of helping her.
Olivia Gregga, 14, told CityNews a 17-year-old girl she didn’t know assaulted her in the cafeteria at Huron Park Secondary School on Feb.28.
Olivia believes the attack was motivated by long-standing tensions she’s had with another girl, who Olivia said has been bullying her for years.
Blurry cellphone video of the incident appears to show the older, larger student pushing Olivia into a cafeteria table. Olivia tries to walk away, but is followed and pushed again.
“She just walked in and started yelling at me,” Olivia said. “I got up and tried to get out, but she just shoved me right into a whole bunch of tables.”
At that point a teacher intervened, but Olivia said once the teacher left the attack continued, and escalated.
“She ran back in and started hitting me in the head. I don’t remember a lot of it.”
Olivia was treated at a local hospital for a concussion. She says she was disappointed that no one helped her.
“There was a group of people in pink shirts just like getting together to take a photo,” she claimed, referring to the shirts students ironically donned to show their support for stamping out bullying.
Two girls have been suspended, but Olivia’s father Murray said he wants police to lay charges.
“I think police need to be involved. We are hoping to see some charges come out.”
“I’m grateful that they conducted the suspension immediately,” he added. “But it doesn’t just stop there. Wearing pink doesn’t stop there. It’s an attitude that you need to embrace.”
He also said he’s proud of his daughter for speaking out about her experiences with bullying.
“The fact that she wants to get this out and make other people aware to help other people, this is how she fights back. This is her left hook and her jab.”
Despite the suspensions, Olivia said her attacker was back at school the next day.
In a statement to CityNews, Olivia’s mother said the school failed to keep her safe.
“Although the principal handled the situation immediately and with compassion, efforts to protect the victim fell short when the two girls suspended for the attack easily re-entered the school the next morning and were seen walking the halls,” she said. “Messages sent over social media indicated their intent to assault (her) a second time.
“It’s been heartbreaking to watch (my) daughter’s physical and emotional wellness deteriorate as a result of living with constant fear, anxiety and depression.”
The Qur’an says “There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256). However, what constitutes “compulsion” is in the eye of the beholder. The institutionalized subjugation of the dhimma, with its regular humiliation and harassment, from which one can be freed for the simple price of converting to Islam, is not considered compulsion. Remember Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, the journalists who were kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam — even though their conversions were obviously coerced, their captors made them say that they were converting freely, and the captors probably believed that themselves. After all, the journos could have chosen to be killed instead.
“12 Christians Murdered in Nigeria for Trying to Protect Girls From Forced Islamic Conversions,” by Stoyan Zaimov, Christian Post, March 1, 2018:
At least 12 Christians have been killed and another 20 injured in Kasuwan Magani in northern Nigeria in retaliation for believers’ attempts to rescue Christian girls from forced Islamic conversions.
Morning Star News reported on Tuesday that radical Muslims hunted down Christians and burned down their homes after they had attempted to rescue two girls who were kidnapped and forcefully converted to Islam two weeks ago.
“The names of those killed are not readily available to me at the moment, but I can confirm to you that they are Christians killed in the Christian area of the town,” said James Madaki of the Evangelical Church Winning All.
The victims also included members of Pentecostal, Baptist, Assemblies of God and Seventh-day Adventist churches in the town.
“The case was reported to the police, and the girls were not rescued, so some Christians decided to rescue the girls, but the Muslims in the town attacked them,” Madaki explained.
“The Muslims did not just attack the Christians that went to rescue the girls, but also went around town attacking Christians they sighted and burned houses belonging to Christians.”
Omega Funom, another Kasuwan Magani resident, confirmed that the violence came as a result of the girls’ kidnapping.
“This is the practice by Muslims in Kaduna state. They abduct small Christian girls and force them to become Muslims, and when Christians reject this, they attack them to create the impression that there’s a religious crisis,” Funom said, adding that the Muslims were armed with AK-47 guns….
The comics industry seems to be doubling down on their policy of completely excluding anyone who is straight, white, male, or conservative. This year’s Emerald City Comic Con released its schedule of events on its app recently. Anyone who is male, white and identifies as heterosexual found himself excluded from industry mixers and professional mixers.
A source attending the event who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons spoke to PJM about the blatant discrimination.
“I’m disappointed that they choose to be divisive in an industry that has seen enough divisiveness as it is,” the source said. “We are not our race or gender or sexuality. Aren’t we a sum of our parts, or as MLK noted so famously, isn’t it the content of our character that should be what counts?”
But this is not the philosophy that drives the race- and sexuality-obsessed left. If you had the misfortune to watch the Olympics this year, you’d know that the most important people in the games were two guys who like having sex with other guys. The fact that they didn’t medal in their individual sports because of their subpar performances had no bearing on the media’s desire to elevate them to god-like status for everyone to adore and beatify. They’re queer, so they win!
