On Nov. 9, 2016, after she had been completely crushed in the presidential election, Hillary Clinton vowed to work with her foe for a better America.
“Last night I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country,” she said. “I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans.”
She said while she was devastated by the loss, “I still believe in America, and I always will. And if you do, then we must accept this result and then look to the future. Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.”
That was then. This is now.
On Sunday, Clinton said that Trump’s speech on Inauguration Day was “a cry from the white nationalist gut.” Yes, she pledged to work together for a better America, then calls the president of the United States a racist. That’s pure Hillary, amirite?
For some reason, people are still asking her how she feels about the loss — 11 months ago. By “people” we of course mean the mainstream media, which was even more heartbroken that she lost. So Hillary appeared on the CBS Sunday morning talk show to go over all that old stuff again, like her going to the inauguration in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 20.
“I’m a former first lady, and former presidents and first ladies show up,” Clinton said on “CBS News Sunday Morning.” “It’s part of the demonstration of the continuity of our government. And so there I was, on the platform, you know, feeling like an out-of-body experience. And then his speech, which was a cry from the white nationalist gut.”
Using a dog-whistle euphemism for racism (“nostalgia,” like, you know, for longing for the good old days of slavery and white supremacy), Hillary told CBS’s Jane Pauley that Trump tapped into a “nostalgia” with his supporters.
“He was quite successful in referencing a nostalgia that would give hope, comfort, settle grievances for millions of people who were upset about gains that were made by others,” Clinton said.
Pauley heard the dog whistle: “What you’re saying is millions of white people?”
“Millions of white people, yeah. Millions of white people,” Clinton said.
Damn white people.
Hillary went on. “I understood that there were many Americans who, because of the financial crash, there was anger. And there was resentment. I knew that. But I believed that it was my responsibility to try to offer answers to it, not to fan it. I think, Jane, that it was a mistake because a lot of people didn’t want to hear my plans. They wanted me to share their anger. And I should’ve done a better job of demonstrating ‘I get it.'”
Of course, Hillary steered the conversation back to her favorite topic: Herself. “It was a very hard transition. I really struggled. I couldn’t feel, I couldn’t think. I was just gob-smacked, wiped out,” Clinton said about her feelings after the loss.
And she again whined about her poor performance in the debates, blaming Trump for standing near her. Hillary has been on a blame-a-day tour, putting her loss on former FBI Director James Comey, Russian President Vladimir Putin, former President Barack Obama, women, men, humans — pretty much everybody but herself.
But back to Hillary. How did she deal with the terrible loss, she was asked for the millionth time.
“I did some yoga. Tried alternative nostril breathing.”
And then she said perhaps the most honest thing she’s ever said in her entire life: “Yes, I had my fair share of Chardonnay.”
How far can one go to get away from his wife? An assistant commissioner of police (ACP) in Jaipur learnt it the hard way — with sore lips and bloodied nose to be precise.
The person responsible for his sore lips and bloodied nose is now cooling his heels in jail, happy at being away from his wife.
It all began when a 30-year-old man walked into the Shipra Path police station Thursday morning and asked the officials to put him in jail.
“I want to go to jail…I beat my wife. Please lock me up,” Yogesh Golya urged the men-in-khaki leaving them stumped. His wife too had reached the police station and wanted to lodge a case against him.
Understanding that it was a case of marital discord, Mansarovar ACP Deshraj Yadav tried to mediate between the two and, in a friendly gesture, put an arm on Golya’s shoulders to calm him down.
What happened next was something that Yadav didn’t foresee coming his way.
“Golya suddenly punched the ACP on his face. As a result, the officer was injured. Blood started gushing out of his lips,” Mukesh Choudhary, station house officer, Shipra Path police station, told HT.
The police said that Golya, who owns a shop in the Walled City, had come to the police station following a marital discord with his wife.
“His wife too had come and both wanted to lodge cases against each other. The man kept on saying that he wanted to go to jail. He looked very troubled and also confessed to have had beaten his wife,” said Choudhary.
Yadav, who has dealt with many dreaded criminals, was left shocked after the sudden attack inside a police station by an unassuming businessman.
“After assaulting the ACP, Golya looked calm and said that now, finally he would go to jail. He kept on saying that he is very much troubled because of his wife,” said the police.
The injured police official was taken to a hospital while Golya got what he had been asking for from the very beginning, to be put in jail.
“He was sent to jail as a case against him was registered, charging him for stopping a government official from doing his duty,” a police official said.
A woman paedophile has been jailed for four years after luring a 13-year-old boy into her home and forcing him to have sex with her.
The boy, then a virgin, cried as he was pinned down by 33-year-old Nicola Fox.
She lured the youngster into her home in Hull by saying she wanted a’chat’, then when he tried to leave she closed the curtains and pulled him onto her bed.
The boy stood to leave again, but she sexually assaulted him, ‘slammed’ the door and then put a table up against it, Hull Crown Court heard.
Claire Holmes, prosecuting, said: ‘She pinned him down to the bed using her weight. She was touching his chest and she removed her trousers and lower clothing.’
Fox then held the boy’s hands over his head and forced him to have sex.
